A smartphone has become such a necessity that having the right apps can make a huge difference.
These days most of us (if not everybody) travel with a smartphone. But are you using it to its full potential in terms of how it can help you travel smarter?

With over a million different apps available on the stores (both the Apple and Android app stores), sorting the good from the bad isn’t easy at all. While some of them will genuinely improve our trip, many others aren’t even worth the time they take to download.

While traveling is supposed to be relaxing, it may cause some stress and take too much of our time as we wonder what to pack, what’s the best place to stay and what are the best activities to do.
It took me quite a long time and cost me many mistakes and bad experiences to actually find the apps that work best for me.

So, before you pack your bags and go out there to see the world, let technology simplify your travel experience and check out this list of the most useful (and free) apps that I actually use:

Pack Point app logo
1. Pack Point

This is the perfect app for everybody that hate feeling forgetful.
Pack Point helps you decide what to pack depending on where you’re going, what the weather will be like, and what sort of activities you’ll be participating in.
Simply input your destination, enter the dates of when you`re going there and select from a list of activities you want to do and this amazing app creates the perfect list for you including the packing list. And if they missed something – you can build your own packing list (or add/remove things from the list).

This one became my favorite and best pre-travel buddy! Through this app, you will NEVER forget your travel essentials ever again.

Why I love it:

  • Could NOT find anything as simple as this app
  • It builds a packing list especially for me based on the weather in my destination, the length of travel and activities during the trip
  • I can edit the list (add or remove things)
  • It includes the number of things that I need to pack (useful for clothing)

Evernote app logo
2. EverNote

Where should I start!?
Evernote is an amazing app for organizing all your pre-trip inspiration notes, links, pictures (and all you can think of) in one place.
This app lets you create notes, add them to notepads and create checklists. And it’s not actually just for travel, you can use it for work or just in your everyday life to stay organized.

Why I love it:

  • It’s more than just a travel note app. I have so many opportunities with this one.
  • I have all notes, links, photos and every file possible in one place
  • It’s basically my “electronic brain”

My TSA app logo
3. My TSA

I used to read and google out things for hours just to find if I can bring a specific item through the airport security. But thankfully, not anymore!!!
This apps saves so much of my time.
It’s super easy and simple to use. You just open the app and you`ll know instantly if you can bring something through the airport security.
You can also use the app to look up how long the security wait times are at your airport so you’ll be sure to arrive early enough to make your flight.

Why I love it:

  •  It saves so much time
  • Everything is in one place so I don’t have to waste time searching around
  •  If I ever have I doubt about whether to pack an item or not, I just open this app and it instantly shows me if I can get that item through the airport security

Ok, so it took me SO LONG until I find this app!
I had so many bad experiences just because I couldn’t reach the files on my computer at home!
Honestly, it’s such a horrible moment when you realize that you need a file stored on your home computer when you’re miles and miles away from it.
TeamViewer allows you to access (and control) your home computer from anywhere.

Why I love it:

  • I can no longer worry about not being able to access my computer at home

5. Track My Tour

This app allows your loved ones to “join” you on a trip from the comfort of their homes.

WizzAir is a Hungarian budget airline that offers over 600 routes from 25 bases in the region.
I strongly recommend reading all of the rules before you book a flight with them.

Personally, I`ve been using it a lot for my European flights. You can bring one item of hand luggage (55x40x23cm) on-board FOR FREE. They even have flights starting from 10$ (yeah, you read that right). And the Wizz Air priority is only 4$ and so worth it.
Do I need to say more?

Why I love it:

  • Super cheap (might be the cheapest company I`ve ever used)
  • Amazing comfort
  • Free WiFi

And again- nothing can beat their prices! Ever since I found out about it, I just can’t stop using it. They offer the best service at the lowest price possible and have multiple routes to the same location per day.

Why I love it:

  • They honestly offer the best service at the lowest price possible! I swear you won’t be able to find a cheaper option for a bus ride
  • They offer free coffee and free newspaper and you even have your own display (placed behind every seat) where you can watch movies, listen to music, play games, follow the stops on the map and you name it
